The Batavia Township Community Center and Park is located at 1535 Clough Pike, Batavia and offers several amenities which are available for the public to use. Our park is home to the Veterans Memorial Plaza which was dedicated on November 11, 2009. The centerpiece is a HUMVEE and pays homage to those who are serving our Nation’s military forces today. We invite you to stop and see the memorial.
The park consists of 71 acres and offers a couple of trails in the wooded section of the park. We also have a 1.25 mile paved walking trail which is called the Louis Moore Memorial Walking Trail. The trail has several benches along its length to sit and rest or just enjoy the scenery. Also on the trail are exercise equipment some of which are handicap accessible. We invite you to walk the trail and try out the equipment. The trail also goes by a 1 acre pond which you are welcome to try your luck at fishing.
For dog lovers we have a new 1 acre dog park called the David J. Stricker Dog Park which is located at the rear of the ball fields and is accessible from the walking path or the parking lot
We have two separate playgrounds with swings, sand volleyball court, tetherball and basketball courts. We also have commercial corn hole boards which are located next to one of our picnic shelters. We have two picnic shelters which can be reserved by township residents by contacting the office.
Shelter #1 has a capacity of 70 people and rents for $40. Per day, shelter #2 now officially named the Calvin Lewis Picnic Shelter has a capacity of 110 people and rents for $60 per day, however for smaller groups the shelter can split in half and rented for $30. each half.
SOCCER
Soccer fields that are located at the Batavia Community Park are operated by the West Clermont Soccer Club who is a member of the Clermont Central Soccer Association and they can be reached at http://www.ccsasoccer.org. This website will also link you with other soccer clubs that serve other communities in Clermont County.
PICKLEBALL
The Batavia Township Community Park is also home to three pickleball courts. Pickleball is an up and coming sport that is a cross between tennis and ping pong. The township is currently using SignUpGenius for interested players to coordinate playtime at the courts. However, courts are not reservable. The courts are located at the end of the Sports Complex parking lot at 1539 Clough Pike. We invite you to swing by and give this sport a try.
DAVID J. STRICKER DOG PARK
Opened in the spring of 2019 it’s the parks newest amenity, a 1 acre dog park that your pet can run off leash and enjoy. The park has fenced areas for small and large dogs as well as benches for their owners to watch their pets run. The park is located just off the walking trail in the southeast corner of the park. Simply drive to the end of the Sports Complex parking lot at 1539 Clough Pike or you can access the dog park by utilizing the walking trail.
BASEBALL/KNOTHOLE
We also have the Jim Bushman Memorial Baseball Complex which is located at 1539 Clough Pike, Batavia. It consists of a total of 4 baseball fields, 3 of which are baseball/softball fields; restroom facility and concession stand and are available for reservation. Information about field reservation and field use can be found by downloading our field use policy which is on our need a form page. Our last ball field is a college level field which is the home field for the UC Clermont Men’s Baseball team and is called Brian Wilson Field. This field was funded by Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jay Bruce, UC Clermont and the Township Trustees. Reservation for Brian Wilson Field are handled through UC Clermont.
